Municipal professional exchange

We connect civil society and the state

Successful care, accommodation and integration of refugees is only possible if municipalities and civil society tackle the challenges together and in a coordinated manner. It is crucial that everyone on the ground works well together and collaborates with each other.

How can housing and accommodation be arranged as quickly and well as possible? How do we enable integration in education, care and language? How can integration into labour market and training be successful? How can access to the community and health be simplified? These and many other questions are discussed in the weekly meetings of the municipalities.

Networking and participation at eyelevel

So far, 23 events of the municipal exchange Ukraine have been held. The series of events has developed into an important meeting forum for experts. The individual events cover a wide range of topics, from the reception and accommodation of refugees to the coordination of integration processes. In addition to sharing practical experiences and good practices, the focus is on exchange between the participants.

In total, more than 1,300 people - mainly from municipalities - have already participated in the events. The Alliance4Ukraine supports the planning and implementation of the calls. Not only speakers from the community are invited, but challenges and key topics are also developed together with the participants in order to create an exchange that is as practical and goal-oriented as possible.

It is important to transfer knowledge about successful examples, such as "Format Ukraine": an online exchange initiated by the Welcome Alliance, the Family-Friendly Commune e.V. and the Bertelsmann Foundation.
