Mentoring is one of the most effective instruments for successful integration. More than 700 organisations in Germany arrange mentorships for refugees. The problem is that the majority of these organisations do not have digitalised processes and are therefore limited locally. Often, a long research or on-site registration is necessary, or people with refuge experience cannot register in their own language. In exchange with the Federal Ministry for Family Affairs, Senior Citizens, Women and Youth (BMFSFJ) and many established sponsorship organisations, ProjectTogether has therefore developed patenmatch.de. Within the first two weeks, over 200 refugees were successfully matched with fitting mentors.

As a central online platform for the matching of safe mentorships for refugees, the platform offers people reliable services in four languages. By building on existing networks, no parallel structures are created. Pooling of resources and exchange between civil society, those affected, the public sector and companies: The aim is to continuously expand the network, identify further mentoring programs and support them.
